Collecting Shoes is a passion for lot of ladies and some men.

Most people have many pairs of shoes and they are as much a fashion item as clothing

Like most things that come under the umbrella of clothing and accessories footwear can be broadly divided into two groups, ladies' and men's. pretty well all the other descriptions of footwear continue to follow this initial division i.e. men's fashion shoes and ladies' fashion shoes, men's wellies and ladies' wellies and so on.

Once upon a time manufacturers of a lot of the more specialised types of footwear only had to cater for men. Football boots and industrial safety boots come to mind. Now both sexes work in environments where protective footwear is needed and both sexes play football. Those old distinctions have largely disappeared so nearly everything now has to be made to cater for both men and women.

One effect has been that style has now become a factor in the design of even the most practical workaday footwear. You can look good and keep your feet safe!

Men are much more fashion conscious today than ever they were a few years ago with the result that the range of style available for men has reached quite bewildering proportions. Women have expected nothing less for a long time now so men probably have a bit of catching up to do! It's still true that women generally find the need for a larger number of pairs of shoes than most men. That's because they usually possess a larger variety of garments which calls for several different styles and colours of shoes to complement the various outfits.

If there's one type of shoe that will go down in history as representative of the late 20th and early 21st Centuries it has to be the trainer. Worn by both sexes across all social boundaries and virtually world wide, the trainer itself comes in a staggering number of versions. For children at school and teenagers it's become an integral part of who they are. To wear trainers of the wrong make and design is to face social ostracism and probably physical violence. It really is that serious!

Anyway the mysteries of youth culture is not what we are here to consider. You're here because you want to buy footwear. It may be trainers or it may equally be riding boots, football boots or ballet shoes or even green wellies for the country. You may be looking here because the shoes you've got have become so badly worn that you don't want to be seen out of doors in them or maybe they let the water in and it's raining! Of course it's probably nothing of the sort and you just fancy some new shoes that's all.
